Beaver Local’s girls soccer team came back from a two goal deficit to defeat Steubenville 4-3 in an OVAC Class 5A semifinal on Monday. Jaylin Crites scored with 22:11 left in the first half and Lucy Saccoccia added another with 11:07 left in the first half to push Big Red up 2-0. Riley Springer assisted Peyton Dunn at the 8:26 mark of the first half then Dunn converted a penalty two minutes later to tie the game. A Kenzy Petrelle penalty kick with 40 seconds left in the half put Big Red up at the break following a Dunn missed penalty kick with 22 seconds left. A nifty turnaround shot by Dunn with 23:41 left in the game tied the game. Leah Stewart supplied the game-winner with 3:21 left for the Beavers and also had an assist earlier in the game. Tatum Duncan had five saves in goal. Top-seeded Beaver Local will play No. 2 seed University at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the final at St. Clairsville. University was a 5-4 winner of Wheeling Park on Monday.
