The Beaver Local Volleyball program opened their season with a clean sweep against Buckeye Local. The freshman team got things started and made quick work winning 25-10, 25-8. Kylie Gbur lead with 7 kills, 4 assists and 4 digs. Daisy McKnight had 4 kills, 1 ace, and 3 digs. Ella Watson had 4 kills, 7 digs. In JV action, the Beavers won 29-27, 25-15. Katie Miller had 6 kills, 3 digs. Maddie Smith had 3 kills, 13 assists, and 5 digs. Maddie Gaydos had 13 digs. Jess Layman had 4 kills, 2 digs. Makayla Jungfleisch had 4 digs. The Varsity team closed the night with a 25-16, 25-17, 25-14 victory. Addie Thurik had 14 kills, 3 aces, 12 assists, and 8 digs. Gianna Congrove had 3 aces, and 9 digs. Leah Schrieber had 5 kills, 2 assists, and 8 digs. Lilly Schrieber had 12 kills, 2 aces, 7 assists, and 7 digs. Madison Poppelriter had 4 kills, 4 digs. McKinnley Ferry had 13 assists and 7 digs. Taylor Pease had 10 digs. Beaver Local freshman travel to Canfield on Monday at 4:30, while the JV and Varsity are back in action Tuesday at Minerva with a 5:30 start.
